Breedlove Oregon Concertina CE Myrtlewood

Breedlove Oregon Concertina CE Myrtlewood

The Breedlove Oregon Concertina Bourbon CE Myrtlewood-Myrtlewood is a body size smaller than the award-winning Concert model, delivering surprising projection and more nuanced notes from the smaller Concertina body shape. Engineered for a versitile play style, this Breedlove acoustic-electric guitar has become a favorite of players around the world. The Breedlove sound comes through bold and clean with balanced bass, mids and highs reminiscent of rosewood and maple.  The Breedlove Oregon Concertina comes with an LR Baggs Element active preamp system with volume and tone controls. It includes a Breedlove Deluxe Hardshell Case.

Sustainable & Clear-Cut Free

Breedlove uses no clear-cut woods in its made-in-Bend models. It’s that’s simple. The Breedlove Oregon Concertina features sustainably sourced all-solid exotic and native tonewoods handcrafted by skilled luthiers who are as sensitive to the needs of the Earth as they are to building great-sounding and playing guitars.

Concertina Body Shape

Breedlove’s distinctive small-body guitar delivers a surprisingly clear, crisp sound, and its short-scale, 12-fret design makes it a joy to play. Extensive Custom Shop engineering and experimentation has resulted in a modern shape that has a bigger sound and a more comfortable profile than a traditional parlor model.

Myrtlewood Top, Back & Sides

Popularized by Breedlove, myrtlewood, from the windblown Oregon coast, combines the best elements of rosewood, mahogany and maple—rich bass, warm midrange and clear, bright trebles—for truly versatile guitars. Each sonically distinct instrument is individualized by the gnarled, wildly varied, but always arresting grain patterns.

Sound Optimization & Hand Voicing

Why do Breedlove guitars sound so good? It’s simple, Breedlove guitars are made with care, with the goal of allowing you to play better, sound better and play more. But it’s also complex, with art, inspiration, craft and science merging together in a process Breedlove calls Sound Optimization. These models are hand-voiced, with experienced luthiers meticulously tapping, listening and shaving away tiny curls of exquisite tonewood as they target specific, measurable frequencies that will make each unique, individual instrument sound its very best. The tonewood species are carefully milled, weighed and considered, with backs and tops specifically tuned to each other to create light, responsive guitars with superior tone and sustain.

The Breedlove Neck

Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability. The finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding and hand buffing and rubbing.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service, and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments, purchased through an authorized Breedlove dealer, are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. In addition to materials and workmanship, Breedlove offers a two-year warranty on tuning machines and electronics packages (when applicable). Cases or gig bags (included or sold separately) are subject to a one-year warranty covering defects in structure and hardware.

About the Oregon Myrtlewood Series

With its hypnotic, variegated color patterns and unique sonic clarity, melding, somehow, the best aspects of rosewood, mahogany and maple, myrtlewood would qualify as one of the great exotic tonewoods. But it’s native. It grows—gnarled, strong and beautiful—on Oregon’s rainy, windswept Pacific coast, just 90 miles from Bend. Breedlove, in fact, led the charge in using myrtle for fine guitars, and that proud lineage continues with the best-selling Oregon series. Denser than Sitka spruce, myrtlewood—as a result of Sound Optimization—can be planed and sanded even thinner, releasing more energy for a balanced profile alive with bass, midrange and treble in equal measure.
